18th birthday nail set from the famous Rippe family.
The look-alike and designer from Rippe was on course to bring the classic Rippe classic into the world of American nail boxes.
Rippe was founded nearly a century to the day by the Rippefenberry family, who developed the first single-layer nail boxes out of wood (and then began manufacturing nail boxes, in the US from 1900 until 1941. The family had been producing nail boxes for more than 100 years; over 75% of their manufacturing ceased in 1946, when some of these boxes were discontinued). The Rippe original design was still in full effect until the mid 20th century; and Rippe was sold to the best and brightest of U.S. manufacturers before that. In 1845 the Rippe family established R&D at San Diego's Rippenfords and began shipping nail boxes in the world, offering an affordable entry level, single (or mixed) layer line. The Rippefenberry families sold the original Rippe label to the U.S. Navy under the name of Alder, and the name was changed to Rippenberry.
