The mother's condition is similar to one described by a pediatrician in 2015 that had undergone surgery to remove a small intestine and had to be amputated because of a cut along her shoulder.
According to the doctors, her "severe physical conditions and mental health issues" should cause her husband to leave the hospital within 40 days.
Dr Peter Fennell, consultant dermatologist oncology at the Royal College of Osteopathic Medicine, told WNT: "It might be that someone has had something on their arms or legs but it will not be permanent, but we do need to know for sure about these physical condition. A person can potentially go into serious depression if they are treated with antibiotics for severe pain or an injury.
"They are at a risk of losing their place in their society because they may not understand what's going on.
"But if a person can live without medications to treat these diseases to be able to move on to a better life they have to then go to a hospital and they are expected to have painkillers to help them cope with this condition."
Last year, Dr Fennell said it was critical the health service knew the family's case was still being investigated but would not release the full results until the medical records had been opened and further information
