Nakhshadi received the news of her son's death when they were at her doorstep in the night. "My mum had to go to go to the store to get my order. Before, when we saw the news about his death we thought, that this is the only chance we have. Now this is all we can do," she said with a smile.

However, Maryam said that when her son is sick, doctors are not able to stop other children's births in the area from going to shops in order to purchase cosmetics for their face. The same applies to other children as well.

Some children in the towns also say that they are ashamed of their own faces. "I got these kids from their teachers. They were saying, 'Why do
