Bud's passion on the web was inspired by Japanese manga and anime. His first Japanese manga was "Italic: A Fairy Tail," which featured a young girl named Shugy. "In the summer of 1990, I read it for a little while, and I realized I could find a way to have a Japanese manga and anime to inspire people. It was so exciting to just see something different, and I'm really happy to be here with the folks I work for. At Posh!, there's something very, very special about making manga that doesn't have a lot of white space, and because it does, people can learn and develop how to learn a language."
Bud went through some difficult times in his life making a living online so he came up with a number of manga and anime inspired by the Japanese comics, in a book which was published in 2007 by New American. He has done a lot of short fiction and graphic novels for a large company called FuzzyBuddies, which he helped create for Fun. (See more about the Fun stuff here) His
