According to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, she had bruises on her right cheek.

A spokeswoman for the Waupaca police department said this morning that investigators have received two calls from the boy and suspect they were attacked while he was playing on the beach. They said the child was shot on Wednesday morning in the 4100 block of North A Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The Waupaca Police Department is not releasing the child's identity now.

We spoke to the Waupaca boy in the 3200 block of State Street who said his cousin was not attacked. He said he didn't talk to the boy until about 5:30 last morning when the shooting happened.

"The young boy did not have any injuries or injuries on him, so he wasn't hurt like the others," Kwanne told Chicago Magazine.
